Rodriguez vs St. Martin's

Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Rodriguez records hat trick as Rangers down Saints 3-0

DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University women's soccer team rolled their way to a second straight home victory this evening as they handily took down St. Martin's University, 3-0 at the Regis Turf Fields.

Leading the way was Fernanda Rodriguez as the junior recorded her first hat trick of the season and second of her career.

She is the first Ranger to record a hat trick for the women's soccer program since Natalie Bunch did last season on September 28, 2025 against New Mexico Highlands.

Behind her scoring efforts, the Rangers are now 3-2 this season while the Saints drop to 1-3-1.

Rodriguez scored once in the first half and twice in the second half of tonight's game while having two of them be unassisted and Brooke Castillo helping on the other.

Her first goal came in the 33rd minute when she broke away from the sideline to the middle of the field and scored on a low curving shot to the bottom left corner.

St. Martin's took two shots with one on goal after her score, but the half finished 1-0 in favor of the Rangers 12 minute later.

Rodriguez then added her second goal of the night in the 50th minute with her receiving a cross pass from Castillo in front of the penalty area and then driving the ball past the goalkeeper to the right side on a one-on-one opportunity.

Despite already securing the brace, Rodriguez still wasn't done as she scored once more in the 59th minute on a long-range goal from nearly 45 yards. Her shot crept into the top right corner of the net and passed a fully extended goalkeeper effort.

The Saints challenged with five shots after going down by three but felt the pressure as they couldn't find the net in the final 31 minutes.

The Ranger defense limited the Saints to just eight shots on offense with only two of them being on goal. The pair of captains, Maggie Payne and Helen Stegner combined in the net for their second shutout of the season while both recorded one save.

Payne earned the decision in the win with her now having 15 saves on the season and owning a .750 save percentage.

The group of Alysah Messenger, Paige Davis, Renata Larracilla and Addysen Gasser also finished with shots in the game as well.

In addition, a total of 24 players recorded time in the win
