COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released its player of the week selections this morning for women's soccer with Regis University's Maggie Payne earning honors as the goalkeeper selection.
This is Payne's first time earning this award in her career and the first time a Ranger goalkeeper has been named to this honor since Katelyn Martin in 2022.
Payne was named the goalkeeper selection this week after helping lead Regis to a 2-0 record in RMAC play this past week when the Rangers defeated both CSU Pueblo and Colorado School of Mines.
Payne totaled 12 saves across the two games while earning a combined shutout against CSUP before then limiting Mines to just one goal on 20 shot attempts.
She recorded two of her saves against CSUP while playing 62-plus minutes on Thursday with her closing the weekend on Sunday against Mines playing the full 90 minutes and recording a new career-high 10 saves.
Payne currently sits top five in the RMAC for GAA and saves with her only allowing six goals on the year so far and totaling 35 saves.
Colorado Mesa's Ellie Duncan and Olivia Barrett joined Payne as the league's offensive and defensive player selections with Barrett earning honors in back-to-back weeks.
