DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University Volleyball team hosted the Colorado Premier Challenge starting on Friday, battling #25 University of Central Missouri and #2 Wayne State College. UCM would win 3-0, (18-25, 13-25, 16-25) and Wayne State would win 3-0 (13-25, 21-25, 16-25). The Rangers fall to 1-5 the Jennies improve to 3-3, and the Wildcats climb to 6-0.
The Rangers will play in the Bronze Bracket on Saturday, Wayne State will play in the Gold, and Central Missouri in the Silver.
VS UCM
Kendal Allaire recorded the first kill of the match for the Rangers, while Cady Knight added an ace in a tight early game. Sabrina Landman, Callie Parker, and Kailyn Polzin added offense as the teams traded points, and a small run gave RU the 12-11 advantage. The Jennies responded with a run of their own, interrupted by Morgan Munro, but Central Missouri held on for the 25-18 win.
They would keep the momentum in the second, jumping out to a 7-1 lead. Polzin and Munro both recorded kills and assisted a block to pace the scoring for RU, while Maddie Lynett assisted a kill and a block to end a run. Nicole Shaver added a service ace, but UCM cruised to the 25-13 win.
Jacie Kaniho's kills and Aaliyah Rodrakkwan's ace helped keep the third close to start, but another big run gave the Jennies a commanding 16-6 lead. Munro and Lauryn Uyemura ended the streak, while Allire recorded another kill and Rodrakkwan and Lynett assisted a block. Kaniho supplied another late kill, but the Jennies completed the sweep, 25-16.

VS WSC
Polzin opened the match with a kill and an early ace, while Alayna Pruitt and Kaniho helped keep the game within one. An offensive run from the Wildcats, interrupted by a few errors brought the score to 23-10. Polzin added a late kill, but WSC would win, 25-13.
The second set started the same as the first with a Polzin kill, to go with scores from Pruitt, Munro and Allaire. Parker put down a block with Allaire and a strong kill, giving Regis the 9-5 lead, but Wayne State battled back to go up 15-14. Kaniho ended the run, while a back-to-back kill and ace from Polzin kept it close. However, WSC was able to hold on for the 25-21 win.
Pruitt would be the go-to hand in the third, while Munro aced a serve and Allaire assisted a Parker block. The squads traded errors, but Wayne State was able to hold the Rangers at bay, and took the third, 25-16.
