Sainz de Rozas Becomes First Ranger to be Named USTFCCCA National Athletes of the Week

NEW ORLEANS, Colo. – The  U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has released the first edition of its National Athletes of the Week Awards, sponsored by M-F Athletic, and Regis' Ainara Sainz de Rozas has been named the winner for NCAA DII Women.

Sainz de Rozas is the first Ranger to ever garner the award.

In her first race with Regis, the 5th year from Madrid, Spain, Sainz de Rozas took 1st place at the UCCS Rust Buster. She set a new course record at Monument Valley Park and crushed the Regis 5k record with a time of 17:07.7. She was also 40 seconds faster than the second place finisher.

National Athlete of the Week is an award selected and presented by the USTFCCCA Communications Staff at the beginning of each week to 14 collegiate cross country athletes, when applicable (male and female for each of the three NCAA divisions, the NAIA and the NJCAA).
