Played in 30 games, making 27 starts, as the Rangers' backup catcher behind All-Conference player Roger Riley. Guthrie hit .307 with five home runs and 17 runs batted in while posting a .400 on-base percentage. Defensively, he owned a .984 fielding percentage and nabbed seven would-be base stealers.
