• Father, John, ran for University of Colorado and was a three-time All-American in cross country, indoor and outdoor track, finishing third in 1973 NCAA Championship 3-mile in 13:10.6 behind University of Oregon's Steve Prefontaine, 13:05.4, and Colorado teammate Ted Castaneda, 13:10.6
