Box Score DENVER, Colo. – On a particularly special night in which six seniors and retiring coach of 30 years
Frank Lavrisha were recognized, the Regis University volleyball team defeated the South Dakota School of Mines Hardrockers 3-1.

The Rangers dominated play in the first set jumping out to a 5-1 lead. Regis held off a South Dakota Mines squad that never backed down to control a 19-10 lead. RU put down back-to-back kills to earn a 25-14 first set win.

The Hardrockers battled back-and-forth with Regis in the second set. The visitors rallied off five-straight to take their largest lead thus far of the match, 16-12. The Rangers responded with an 11-0 run of their own to regain control of the lead and extend it to 22-17. South Dakota Mines held RU at set point at 24-20 but Regis was able to put it away, 25-20, with a big kill from
Cedar Bellows.

With a 2-0 match lead, RU opened up the third set with five straight points with
Jaclyn Williamson at the serve. The Hardrockers went to work to eventually tie it up at 12-12. The Rangers were ahead 20-16 as they neared match point. South Dakota Mines went to work and scored seven unanswered points to take the third set 25-22.

The score tied six times in the beginning of the fourth set until Regis was able to slightly pull away. The Rangers secured the match with a 25-19 win in the final set.
Katie Klein produced another efficient night with 17 kills on 30 attempts for a .467 hitting percentage.

Bellows tied her career-high adding 11 kills on 18 attempts to record a .500 hitting percentage. while recording a team-high five blocks on the defensive side.
Kelsey Green chipped in with ten kills of her own and a .364 hitting percentage.

Maggie Steward,
Drew Rhamy and
Kristina Schell kept a combined 36 plays alive holding the Hardrockers to 39 kills and a .157 hitting percentage.
Diamond Ridley-Pierce and
Yagoda Jedrzejczak tallied four blocks apiece as Regis won the battle at the net 12-7.
