Box Score 2 DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University Ranger softball team secured the four-game sweep of the Colorado Christian Cougars notching two more to the win column and improving to an overall record of 16-15 and 11-9 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. RU defeated CCU 4-1 in game one and 9-1 in game two to enforce the run rule during the bottom half of the fifth.
The Rangers locked down CCU defensively allowing just two runs and once again going error-less through both games. RU dominated offensively outhitting the Cougars 18-11 while forcing them to leave 13 runners on base.
Leading Regis offensively was Ashley Prescott and Alyssa Finger. Prescott went 3-of-4 at the plate including a two-run home run, a triple, a single, and a sacrifice bunt. Finger added 3-of-6 at the plate with two runs and an RBI. Nicole Aviles and Leah Gordon also chipped in combining to go 4-of-5 scoring three runs and tallying three RBIs with Macy Cox helping with three RBIs of her own.

Game 1: Regis 4 Colorado Christian 1
The score remained locked 0-0 after the first inning of play but Prescott got things going with a two-run shot over the center field fence. RU continued to hold the Cougars scoreless until two singles scored one run in the top of the fifth.
Regis wasted no time responding to CCU as Prescott, again, got the bats swinging, this time with a lead-off triple that hit the fence before falling onto the warning track. Emily John brought Prescott in on a single through the right side. Macy Cox decided to get in on the action driving John across the plate on a triple but unfortunately was tagged out on the play at third as Colorado Christian was efficient in getting the ball in.
Hull and the Ranger defense forced the Cougars to go three up three down in the final half inning of the game with Hull tallying her seventh strikeout of the day in CCU's last at bat.
Game 2: Regis 9 Colorado Christian 1
Colorado Christian took their first lead of the series since early in the game on Sunday driving one across off a two-out single. Regis once again had a response when Carlie Sexton drove a run home with a double to right center. Singles from John and Cox continued to bring runs across as RU held a 4-1 lead after two innings of play.
Then, Gordon brought two more across on her single to right in the bottom of the third pushing the lead to 6-1. Doubles from Aviles and a triple from Finger in the bottom of the fourth continued to extend Regis' lead to 8-1. Bradey King finished off the game enforcing the run rule with another single that scored Gordon.
