Box Score DENVER, Colo. – Producing their best offensive night thus far this season, the Regis University volleyball team pummeled the Chadron State Eagles (2-11, 1-4 RMAC). Collectively, the Rangers blasted the Eagles with a .444 attack percentage totaling 54 kills, 20 more than the visitors.
The Rangers came out strong in the opening set jumping out to an early 7-3 lead and never letting up as the first set went in favor of Regis 25-14. The second set proved RU's most efficient of the match recording 21 kills and hitting at a clip of .594. The Eagles were more competitive throughout the second set but the Rangers continued frustrating the Chadron State attack to pull ahead and take the 25-18 win.
CSC held the first lead of the entire match early in the third set but Regis quickly regained control. Five-straight Eagles points brought them within three of RU, 17-14. The Rangers, yet again, responded to finish off the straight-set victory over Chadron State with a 25-20 third set win.
Freshman
Kelsey Green had a career night putting down 16 kills in 25 attempts while committing just one error for a .600 attack percentage.
Maggie Steward produced a season-high 11 kills on 21 attempts for a .381 attack percentage and
Katie Klein added ten kills to finish with a .320 attack percentage.
Drew Rhamy and
Kristina Schell combined for 19 of the Rangers 42 digs to keep the Eagles attack at bay while
Silvia Basso assisted on 39 points, her third 30-plus assist match on the season.
The Rangers host Westminster (2-10, 0-4 RMAC) on Saturday, October 1 at 5 p.m.
