Box Score ALAMOSA, Colo. – The No. 19 Regis University women's basketball team completed the road weekend with a 56-45 victory over the Adams State Grizzlies (1-16, 0-14 RMAC). The Rangers are one win away from tying their largest win streak thus far this season at five-straight.

Shelby Espinosa scored a career-high 18 points on 7-of-9 from the field and 4-of-6 from the line while posting her first double-double pulling down another career-high 13 boards, including six offensive.
Mary Sigler added 15 points marking her eighth game in a row with double-digits.

How It Happened: The Rangers experienced a slower start than usual to the game as Adams State jumped out to a 10-4 lead. RU swung the momentum back in their favor going off for a 10-3 run at the end of the first quarter to take a slight 14-13 lead.

Regis picked up the second quarter right where they left off dropping the first two field goals but the Grizzlies would not back down. An ASU 8-0 run shifted the lead once more as both teams continued battling back-and-forth to head into halftime locked at 28-28.

The Rangers held the Grizzlies scoreless throughout the opening six and a half minutes of the third quarter. Regis held ASU to just four points in the entire third quarter to hold a 47-32 lead heading into the fourth, which was the largest of the game thus far.

Adams State closed down the lead a couple different times but not enough to comeback and make it a game. The Rangers closed out the road win before a four-game home stand improving to an overall record of 15-2 and 10-2 in the conference.

Games Notes: RU won the battle of the boards 40-28 once again getting after it on the offensive glass for 17. Regis netted 19 second chance points. RU tallied 21 points off turnovers forcing ASU to 15. The Rangers shot 32.7 percent (17-52) from the field, 29.2 percent (7-24) from three and 83.3 percent (15-18) from the line. Regis held the Grizzlies to shot just 13.3 percent from distance.

Next Up For The Rangers: RU is at home for the next two weekends hosting New Mexico Highlands on Friday, January 27 and conference-leading CSU-Pueblo Saturday, January 28. Both tip-offs are set for 5 p.m.
