SAINT LEO, Fla. – After losing their first game of the season, the No. 15 ranked Regis University women's lacrosse team (9-1, 4-0 RMAC) were back in action on Saturday afternoon as they beat the Saint Leo University Lions (6-8, 0-2 SSC) 18-12.

Erin Todd netted five goals and added two assists on Saturday, sophomore
Wendy Donier chipped in with four goals of her own, and the Rangers got back on track, despite allowing 24 shots and committing 24 turnovers.
How It Happened: The home team drew first blood, scoring the opening goal of the game 30 seconds into the game. This seemed to wake Regis up as they quickly responded with a 4-0 run as redshirt-senior

Sarah Myres (2) all scored goals during the stretch to take a 4-1 lead.
Saint Leo added another goal at the 19:32 mark, but Todd took a pass from Myres and netted her second goal of the game to cancel out the goal only one minute later. The Rangers closed out the half by outscoring the Lions 6-5 leading to a 10-6 lead at halftime. At this point in the game, RU was losing the draw control battle 11-5, a category in which they have not lost all season.
Regis rattled off three straight goals in the opening minutes of the second half increasing their lead to 13-6. However, Saint Leo was not going to go away without a fight, outscoring the Rangers 5-2 in a ten-minute span midway through the half, bringing the score to 15-11 in favor of RU.

Ali Vanek got her second to help put some distance between Regis and the Lions, but it was Todd who netted two goals late in the second half and Bonner adding her second goal of the day that helped the Rangers finish off the Lions 18-12 in the end.
Game Notes: RU outshot the Saint Leo 28-24 in the game, putting 27 of their 28 shots on goal. The ground ball battle tipped in the favor of the Lions by a 29-37 margin, but the Regis defense forced Saint Leo into 31 turnovers. Although the Rangers won more draw controls in the second half (10-5), the home team finished with a 16-15 advantage overall, marking the first time all season that Regis has lost this category.
Next Up for the Rangers: The No. 15 ranked women's lacrosse team will return home this week to host Concordia St. Paul on Wednesday, April 12 at 4 p.m., Westminster College on Thursday, April 13 at 4 p.m. with the last game of the week against Colorado Mesa University scheduled for Saturday, April 15 at 1 p.m.
