GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The No. 18 ranked Regis University Rangers (3-1, 1-1 RMAC) fell 3-0 to the No. 6 ranked Colorado Mesa Mavericks (5-1-1, 1-1-0 RMAC) on Sunday afternoon.
How It Happened: The offense was limited for Regis in the first half as they managed only one shot in 45 minutes, conceding seven to the Mavericks. CMU netted the only goal in the first half that came in the 26
th minute.
The second half was controlled by the Mavericks, but the Rangers were able to put a little more pressure on the home side as they pelted seven shots. CMU added to their lead scoring in the 60
th and 73
rd minute to take a 3-0 lead.
Both teams continued the physical play on the way to a 31 total fouls. The clock wound down with the hometown Mavericks took taking the win 3-0 after 90 minutes of play.
Game Notes: CMU took 16 shots (12 on goal) in the game while RU managed eight, putting two of them on goal. Three yellow cards were issued to the visiting team with one given to the home side. The corner kick battled tilted heavily in favor of the Mavericks 11-3 as the high-powered CMU offense applied constant pressure to the Regis defense.

The first will be a matchup with the UC- Colorado Springs Mountain Lions on Friday, September 22 at 7:30 p.m. Two days later the team will go head-to-head with the Colorado State University-Pueblo ThunderWolves at 2:30 p.m.
