Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Rangers Rout Cougars 6-0

DENVER, Colo. - Five different Rangers scored on the Regis Match Pitch as the men's soccer team (9-4-2, 8-2-2 RMAC) strolled to a 6-0 victory this afternoon against Colorado Christian University (1-13-1, 1-9-1 RMAC).

How it Happened: The Rangers tallied three of their goals in the first half, commencing with Ethan Willson muscling his way past three defenders to knock in a shot off the far right post in the 35th minute.

Less than a minute later, the Ranger lead swelled to 2-0 as Ollie Haines found a pass up the middle from Parker Klein and sent it to the back of the Cougar net. Haines finished off the first half with his second goal at the 41:10 mark, putting Regis up 3-0.

In the second half, a new trio of Rangers did the scoring. Joe Mansfield recorded his fourth goal of the season in the 76th minute, gathering a loose ball from a corner kick and redirecting it to the bottom left of the frame. Jake Brown also netted his fourth goal of the season this afternoon as he intercepted a pass from the keeper to bolster the RU lead 5-0. 

The sixth and final goal was booted in by Joel Migliaccio in the 89th minute. Picking up the rebounded shot from Evan Bunch, Migliaccio found netting and wrapped up the scoring at 6-0. 

Game Notes: The Rangers outshot the Cougars in titanic proportions, registering 31 shots compared to the visitor's four. RU finished with 16 shots on goal and seven corner kicks. In net, Chase Webert made three saves for Regis. Leading the offense was Haines with 10 shots, five on goal and two goals. Brown followed with three shots on goal while Parker Klein totaled two shots on goal and an assist. 

Up Next for the Rangers: Regis will now face the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs as well as Colorado School of Mines to wrap up regular season action. RU hosts the Mountain Lions on Thursday, October 25 at 3:30 PM before welcoming the fifth ranked Orediggers on Saturday, October 27 at 11:00 AM.
