LUBBOCK, Texas – The Regis University baseball team (3-0) defeated No. 7 ranked Lubbock Christian University 1-0 in extra innings on Saturday afternoon.
How It Happened: In the top of the second inning Senior
Chris Kobar laced a ball to left field to record the first hit of the game. The Regis defense got out of the first four innings quickly, retiring LCU 1-2-3.
Neither team had a runner reach third base until the bottom of the seventh when the Chaparrals loaded the bases after a walk dealy by junior
Chris Isbell. Isbell got out of the jam by striking out the next two batters.
The Rangers scored the winning run in the top of the tenth inning. Senior
Zach Dedin stepped to the plate as a pinch hitter and hit a double to right field. With two outs and Dedin still on second, junior
Logan Heflebower reached on an error by the Chaps third baseman and Dedin came around to score.

Patrick Kenny struck out two batters and got the final out on a pop-up to center field to end the game 1-0 after the tenth.
Game Notes: RU managed five hits against the seventh-ranked team. Kobar lead the game with three hits on four at bats. Senior
Andrew Bryniarski recorded one hit and Dedin was credited with the hit that got him on base to score the winning run. Regis left a total of seven runners on base.
The Rangers pitching staff allowed just four hits total. Isbell threw seven complete innings, faced 26 batters and struck out eight batters. Freshman
Scott Vinceri was awarded the win after pitching the ninth inning and striking out two batters. Kenny received a save after striking out two batters in the tenth inning.
