DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University baseball team (15-9, 7-5 RMAC) fell 7-5 in extra innings to Colorado Christian University (8-10, 3-5 RMAC) on Sunday afternoon.
How It Happened: The Cougars got on the board first for the fourth consecutive game with two runs in the top of the third inning. Both of their runs came on base hits with two outs.
Regis responded with a run of the own in the bottom half of the inning, cutting the deficit to 2-1. Sophomore
Coby Zimmerman walked as the lead-off batter and came around to score on am RBI-triple by junior
Connor Rochon.

Logan Heflebower laid down a SAC bunt in the fourth that scored senior
Chris Kobar who reached base after being hit by a pitch.
The Rangers took their first lead of the game in the bottom of the fifth. Junior
Mickey Meinhofer also reached base after being hit by a pitch. He recorded his first stolen base of the season by stealing second before advancing to third on a balk. The junior then scored on a throwing error by the Cougars short-stop and RU took a 3-2 lead.
CCU hit a solo homerun in the top of the sixth to even the game at three. The game did not remain tied for long as Regis had a quick answer in the bottom of the sixth. They scored two runs on two hits and an error to take a 5-3 advantage.
The Cougars scored the rest of the runs from there. They were able to tie the game with two runs on three hits and an error in the seventh. The Rangers had bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth and tenth inning but were unable to push a run across home-plate. They left eight runners on base through the last three innings before CCU scored two game-winning runs in the top of the 12th.
Game Notes: Heflebower (3-5, 2 RBI, 1 2B) had the most hits for RU. Senior
Zach Dedin (2-5, 1 2B) and Kobar (2-4) each had multiple hits. Regis was out-hit 12-11 in the 7-5 loss.
Senior
Patrick Kenny (0-1) was given the loss. He pitched 3.2 innings, allowing two runs on three hits while recording four strikeouts.
Junior
Chris Isbell pitched six innings as the starter. He gave up three runs on four hits and struck out six of the 22 batters he faced.
