ALAMOSA, Colo.- The No. 11 ranked Regis University women's lacrosse team (13-3, 8-1 RMAC) closed out Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) play with an impressive 16-5 win over the Adams State University Grizzlies (3-7, 1-6 RMAC) on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Rangers have clinched the right to host the RMAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament for the second-consecutive year as the highest-ranked Colorado team in the conference. The tournament will take place May 3-6.Â

How It Happened: Regis was flaming hot to open the game, rattling off ten-straight goals before the home team could even catch their breath. During the run, juniors
Wendy Donier and
Sarah Myres each registered hat-tricks with redshirt-junior
Sarah Lugo and netting two goals and senior
Rachael Walker and junior
Lauren Hurd chipping in with one goal apiece.Â

The Grizzlies notched two goals before the first half ended, but the Rangers still held a comfortable 8-2 lead at the break.Â

ASU carried that momentum into the start of the second half as they scored the first goal of the second half less than three minutes in. Donier and freshman
Kyleigh Peoples countered with back-to-back goals.Â

The Blue and Gold never wavered in the game, controlling every aspect of the match. Peoples completed her hat-trick with a goal at the 4:22 mark which turned out to be the last goal of the game, putting Regis ahead by 11 goals, finishing with a final score of 16-5.Â

Jada Bonner scooped up a team-high three ground balls apiece in the win. Freshman
Elle Crawford (W, 9-3) picked up her ninth win of the season, spending 30:51 in between the pipes, allowing only one goal and making three saves.

The Rangers outshot the home team 32-10 in the game, and forced the Grizzlies into 30 turnovers, while only committing 13 of their own. RU also won the ground ball battle 19-14 and they narrowly edged ASU in draw controls 12-11.Â
