DENVER, Colo. – After their season opening win on Wednesday, the No. 8 ranked Regis University women's lacrosse team (1-0) was back in action on Saturday afternoon as they took down the Mountain Lions of the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs 18-9.

Sarah Myres and
Wendy Donier led the charge for Regis scoring 12 of the team's 18 goals. The Rangers got on the board first with one goal from Myres before the home side tied it at one apiece. Four-straight goals from RU gave them some breathing room in the first-half before both teams netted one more goal before halftime, bringing the score to 6-2 at the break.
After halftime, both teams ramped it up on offense combining for 19 total goals in the second half alone. Regis claimed 12 of those goals to take home the 18-9 win, with sophomore
Elle Crawford (W, 2-0) and senior
Hope Correia combining to hold the Mountain Lions under ten goals in the game.
Game Notes:Myres led all players with seven goals and four assists for a game-high 11 points, which set a new career-high for the senior, surpassing her previous career-high by two points. Donier finished the game with five goals and a career-high nine draw controls. Crawford picked up her second win of the season, making eight saves (.727 SV%) and allowing only three goals.
Sophomore
Kyleigh Peoples and freshman
Maya Quigley each recorded a team-high two caused turnovers in the match, with Quigley tracking down two ground balls to lead all Rangers. A total of ten players for RU managed to snag ground balls in the game.
Up Next for the Rangers: The No. 8 ranked women's lacrosse team will be back in action on Saturday, March 2 when they welcome the University of Tampa to the friendly confines of the Regis Lacrosse Field for a 1 p.m. game.
