Damian Michalec
Junior / Forward / Greenwood Village, CO / Northwest Kansas Technical College

College:Â
Spent the past two seasons at Northwest Kansas Technical College. Scored five goals and had an assist in 15 career games for the Mavericks. Was named an Academic All-American in 2017.Â

High School:Â
Played one season at Cherry Creek High school. Played in 12 games had eight goals and three assists. Was named All-Centennial League Second Team.Â

Club:Â
Played club ball for Colorado Rapids Select.Â

McCall on Michalec:Â
"Damian is a strong central attacking player who brings a unique skill set to our program. He has the ability to both hold the ball up and play in the wide channels and his work rate defensively is second to none. As an accomplished student-athlete at the junior college level, both athletically and academically, we feel he's a great fit for the program."

Ben Shepherd
Freshman / Midfielder / Highlands Ranch, CO / University of New Mexico

Redshirted his freshman year at the University of New Mexico.Â

High School:Â
Spent his senior year at Mountain Vista High School. Was a state champion in 2015 during his freshman season at Houston High School in Germantown, Tenn. Where he was a two-time All-State team selection during his freshman and sophomore year. Member of the National Honor Society.Â
Club Career:Â
Played at the club level for Real Colorado USSDA, Solar SC USSDA in Texas and Lobos Rush in Tennessee. Was a three-time club state champion and was ranked in the top-25 of players in the Southwest Region in 2018.Â

McCall on Shepherd:Â
"Ben is a talented and versatile central midfielder. Capable of shielding the back four as a 6 or playing more box to box as an 8, his combination of technical ability and athleticism make him an extremely effective player. His time at UNM, one of the top soccer programs in Division I, will prove to be invaluable and we fully expect him to come in and compete from the start."

Aymaro Vargas
Freshman / Forward / Denver, CO / Kennedy H.S.Â

High School:Â
Four-year letterwinner at Kennedy High School where he was a three-time team captain. Finished his prep career with 43 goals and 36 assists for 122 points. Twice named All-Denver Prep League. Had a career high 14 goals and 12 assists while leading Kennedy to the state quarterfinals and was named second team All-State and Denver Public Schools Player of the Year in 2018.Â

Club:Â
Plays his club ball with the Colorado Rapids Developmental Academy. Prior to the DA, Vargas was a member of the Rapids ECNL group, scoring 20+ goals in each of his two previous seasons.Â

McCall on Vargas:Â
"Aymaro is a player we identified at one of our ID camps last summer. He's a naturally gifted attacking player who's been a play maker for his team at both the club and high school level. His ability to create in the final third will be a valuable addition to the program. Â
