DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University baseball tell fell to 12-25 overall and 7-17 inside the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) after being shut out 0-6 by the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (23-15, 15-9 RMAC) on Sunday afternoon.
How It Happened: The first seven innings featured a pitching duel with both pitchers allowing four hits or less. Neither team scored a run until the eighth inning of play.
Sophomore
Colin King, the Rangers starter, allowed three hits through 5.2 innings of work. He faced 21 batters and retired two on strikes.
RU had two runners in scoring position and the opportunity to score the first run of the game with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning, but the Mountain
Lions escaped the inning before a run would come across.
UCCS scored two runs in the early goings of the eighth inning before adding four more with two outs. They took their 0-6 lead behind six hits.

Logan Heflebower (3-4, 1 2B) tallied a game-high three hits. Redshirt senior
Mickey Meinhofer (2-4) was the only other Regis batter with multiple hits. The Rangers were outhit 7-10.
Up Next for the Rangers: The Regis University baseball team will travel to St. George Utah for a four-game series against Dixie State University next weekend. The first pitch of the first game will be at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18.
