COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – after a superb performance which helped the Regis University volleyball team earn two conference wins this past weekend, freshman setter,
Mara LeGrand, has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Setter of the Week.
LeGrand (Papillion, Neb.) was an assist machine in the opening two games of RMAC play this past weekend. She led all players in week three with 89 assists and an 11.12 assists per set average. If that is not enough, LeGrand posted back-to-back double-doubles in the first two RMAC games of career. She had a season-high 19 digs against the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs on Friday, before adding 11 more on Saturday against the Colorado School of Mines. The freshman also tallied two kills, two service aces and three total blocks. This is the first RMAC Setter of the Week award for LeGrand and it took only one full week as the starting setter for her to make an impact in the conference.
The Regis University volleyball team will take on the Colorado Christian University Cougars tomorrow night in Lakewood at 7 p.m. for their third match in five days.
