COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Graduate student guard
Brian Dawson has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Dawson (Los Angeles, Calif.) had a fantastic week on the offensive side of the floor for the Rangers which featured back-to-back-to-back double digit scoring performances.
In the team's 91-63 win over SAGU American Indian College on Tuesday, Dawson scored 16 points and totaled five assists (game-highs) en route to a 6-14 FG and a 4-11 3-PT performance.
Then in the 83-64 win over Concordia University, St. Paul, Dawson was lights out from the field as he went 11-20. At the end of the game, Dawson had scored a game-high 26 points and also added a pair of assists.
To put a bow on his impressive week, Dawson dropped 18 points and recorded a trio of assists in the team's 96-71 win over Benedictine University at Mesa. In the win, Dawson shot a season-high 50 percent from behind the arc and shot 60 percent from the field.
Through the week, Dawson averaged 20 points per game.
