DALLAS – The Regis University baseball team rose two spots in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) South Central Region Poll for the Week of March 15-21, the organization announced on Wednesday.
 
The Rangers, who garnered 57 points upon taking three of four at Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) foe Adams State, are sitting in sixth in the NCBWA South Central Region Poll. This signifies a two-slot bump from last week's poll.
 
Regis also now ranks third among RMAC teams, representing a rise of one spot.
 
No. 2 Colorado Mesa (12-2, 9-1 RMAC) is still the highest-ranked RMAC team and maintains its hold of second. The Mavericks accumulated 105 points, including three first-place votes.
 
Metropolitan State University of Denver (15-1, 11-1 RMAC) (82) ranks fourth in the poll, where the Roadrunners stay for the second straight week.
 
No. 1 Angelo State (14-2) paces the poll again with 114 points, including eight first-place votes.
 
No. 10 West Texas A&M (18-3) (102) took third in the poll again and received the remaining first-place vote.
 
RU, which received one vote in the NCAA Division II national poll, had a 13-3 record overall going into this weekend and a 9-3 record in RMAC play on Wednesday. The Rangers are playing in a CMU-hosted pod in which Regis beat Adams State (3-8, 2-5 RMAC) by scores of 11-2 and 7-2 on Friday and Saturday, respectively, and lost to the Mavericks of Colorado Mesa, 6-3, on Friday. All games have taken place at Suplizio Field.
 
Regis will conclude the pod against CMU at Suplizio Field on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
