Regis comes back to beat UC-Colorado Springs, 3-2

Brown scores tying and go-ahead goals in win over the Mountain Lions

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Regis University men's soccer team experienced a whole mix of emotions as it led, tied, and trailed throughout its match against UC-Colorado Springs, and ultimately, bested the Mountain Lions, 3-2, at Mountain Lion Stadium on Sunday.

How It Happened: Knotted up at 2-2 in the 86th minute, passes from senior forward Parker Klein and senior defender Danilo Pekovic led to senior midfielder Jake Brown, who directed a shot to the high center of the goalbox for the go-ahead, game-winning, 3-2 goal in favor of the Rangers.

Senior forward Jean Carre gave Regis an early, 1-0 lead on a penalty kick at the 11:34 mark during the first half.

UC-Colorado Springs evened the score, 1-1, in the 49th minute when freshman midfielder Alex Andersson shot the ball to the lower left upon getting a pass from freshman midfielder Adin Schwenke.

UCCS then took a 2-1 lead when the clock read 60:43 on redshirt sophomore defender Liam McGuire's unassisted goal to the high center of the box.

Though down, RU maintained its composure and mounted a comeback to overcome the deficit.

Finally, senior midfielder Eric Peter equalized the match, 2-2, with his goal to the lower right late in the 69th minute after receiving the ball from Pekovic.
