DENVER – After a dominant performance yesterday, the No. 12 ranked Regis University women's lacrosse team (8-1, 4-0 RMAC) took down the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks (2-5, 1-4 RMAC) 19-6 on Sunday afternoon.
How It Happened: The game was started with a 6-0 run from the home team before the Skyhawks got on the board. The offensive success continued for Regis as they took a commanding 12-3 lead into halftime.
The second half featured seven goals from the Rangers as they once again held their opponents to only three goals, leading to a 19-6 win over Fort Lewis.
Game Notes: Senior
Kyleigh Peoples (4 G, 3 A) and sophomore
Gabby Rothermund (2 G, 5 A) each shared a team-high seven points in the game. Rothermund also had a team-best eight draw controls along with senior
Jessica Berg. Junior
Alexis Parker added four goals and one assist on the day.
In net for RU, senior
Elle Crawford (W, 8-1) made two saves in 48:48 before freshman
Elizabeth Myotte took over and made two saves in 11:12. Defensively, Peoples led all players with five caused turnovers and six ground balls. Junior
Maya Quigley followed closely behind with three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
