Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Eleventh Ranked Rangers Win 21-4 Against ThunderWolves, Streak Reaches Nine-Straight

DENVER – The No. 12 Regis University women's lacrosse team (9-1, 5-0 RMAC) earned their ninth-consecutive win with a commanding 21-4 defeat of the Colorado State University Pueblo ThunderWolves (4-6, 2-3 RMAC) on Tuesday afternoon.

How It Happened: The home team struck first after only 1:10 seconds as Emily Eller netted her 27th goal of the season for the Pack. That sparked an 11-0 run from Regis as their offense came alive. Three Rangers had hat tricks during the run including seniors Kyleigh Peoples and Jessica Berg, along with junior Alexis Parker. CSU Pueblo scored one more goal and the visitors netted two before the end of the first half, leading to a 13-2 halftime advantage for RU.

Regis scored the first seven goals of the second half beginning with a goal from Parker on a man-up opportunity. Senior Catie Snee finished the 7-0 run with her fourth goal of the season as she took a pass from freshman Tia Krats to put the Rangers in front 20-2. Back-to-back goals for the ThunderWolves gave them four goals on the day while junior Monica Looney scored the final goal of the game for RU to give the No. 12 ranked Regis University women's lacrosse team their ninth-straight win.

Game Notes: Today's game featured a balanced attack from Regis as three players recorded four points on four goals. Those players were seniors Andrea Macalalad, Jessica Berg and Kyleigh Peoples. Berg also tallied seven draw controls and seven ground balls while forcing three caused turnovers, all of which led the team. Junior Sydney Landdeck and sophomore Tara Davis each had three caused turnovers on the defensive end while senior goalie, Elle Crawford (W, 9-1) continues to add to her program-leading win total. Crawford is now the winningest goalie in Regis University women's lacrosse history with 41 career wins between the pipes, four more than the previous record holder at Regis. Crawford made two saves in the game as she and freshman Elizabeth Myotte gave up two goals apiece.

The Rangers have now outscored their opponents 81-12 over the last four games, and on the season that margin is at 172-53, which is tied for the third-best margin in all of Division II. The teams 15.89 caused turnovers per game ranks first in the country.

Up Next for the Rangers: The No. 12 ranked Regis University women's lacrosse team will host a rematch with the ThunderWolves on the Regis Lacrosse Field this Friday at 1 p.m.
