COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The No. 10 ranked Regis University women's lacrosse team (12-1, 8-0 RMAC) traveled to Colorado Springs to take on the Mountain Lions of the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs (8-3, 4-3 RMAC) in the regular season finale on Saturday afternoon, beating the home team by a score of 17-8.
How It Happened: It was an unusual start to the game for tenth-ranked Regis as they found themselves trailing 2-1 less than four minutes into the game. Freshman
Tia Krats netted the first goal of the game after receiving a pass from senior
Kyleigh Peoples. Peoples then tied the game at two goals apiece with her first goal of the game. UCCS scored their third goal to take a 3-2 lead with 24:50 on the clock.
After the third goal from the Mountain Lions, sophomore
Maddie Northcut (3), Peoples (3), Krats (2) and freshman
Lily Ferguson each scored goals during a 9-2 run, giving the Rangers an 11-5 lead at the half.
In the second half, the Rangers continued with the momentum, scoring back-to-back goals to get the period started. Peoples assisted on goals from sophomore

Jessica Berg. Krats, Peoples and senior
Andrea Macalalad all earned free-position attempts and found the back of the net for the next three goals for RU, boosting the lead to eleven goals at 16-5 before the home team scored their sixth goal of the game.
Junior
Monica Looney linked up with Truex the next time down the field for the 17
th goal of the game for Regis. The Rangers conceded two final goals to UCCS in the last seven minutes of the game, but RU held on to pick up their twelfth-straight win of the season, 17-8 over the Mountain Lions.
Game Notes: The team scored in a variety of ways on Saturday but much of their offense went through Peoples who accounted for eight points with a game-high five goals and three assists. Berg continues to dominate on the draw circle, winning 12 draw controls on the day, adding one goal and three ground balls in the effort. Krats tallied a new season-high with four goals on the day, and Nortcut matched her season-high with three goals.
Between the pipes, senior
Elle Crawford (W, 12-1) also earned her twelfth-straight win making six saves and allowing six goals for a .500 save percentage in nearly 50 minutes as the goalie. Freshman
Elizabeth Myotte came on in relief and made one save in 10 minutes.
Regis held advantages in a number of categories on the day including shots (43-19), turnovers (8-17), clears (14-14, 100%) and draw controls (18-8).
Up Next for the No. 10 Rangers: With today's win, the Regis University women's lacrosse team have won the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) regular season titles with a perfect 8-0 record inside the conference. Regis has also earned the right to host the RMAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament May 7 and 9 as the overall number one seed. They will take on the number four seed in the opening round on May 7.
