Burbrink earns Academic All-District honors

| By:
GREENWOOD, Ind. – Regis University volleyball senior middle blocker Nadine Burbrink was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday in her first year eligible for the award.

The 2022 Academic All-District Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA), recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.  Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, second and third-team Academic All America honorees will be announced in late December.

To be eligible for All-District consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and must have been an active student at their institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters.

Burbrink, now in her second full year at Regis, earns the honor with a spotless 4.0 GPA as a Business Management major. She was also named to the RMAC All-Academic First Team back in early November for the first time in her career with the Rangers.

On the court, Burbrink has been a staple along the front row as she started 29 of 30 matches played this season, finishing third overall on the team with 283 kills with a .279 attack percentage. Defensively, she added 91 total blocks and 41 digs while accounting for the third highest point total for Regis (345.5).

Her play helped guide the Rangers to a 22-8 overall record this fall, the RMAC regular season and tournament runner-up finishes, and a berth in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Tournament.
