DENVER - The No. 23 Regis University men's basketball team (17-6,12-5 RMAC) dropped their Saturday night contest to the Fort Lewis Skyhawks (14-7,10-5 RMAC) at the Regis Field House. Graduate student guard
Troy Brady dropping a career-high 26 points and three other Rangers scoring in double-digits were the highlights of the evening.
How it Happened: After FLC opened the contest on a 12-6 run, Regis took their first lead of the night when graduate student
Brian Dawson and Brady hit back-to-back-to-back triples at the 5:46 mark in the first frame. RU ended the half of a 14-9 run, leading 39-31 as the teams went to the locker room.
However, the Skyhawks started the final frame shooting extremely well, 60 percent from the field in fact. A 24-11 FLC run gave them a 55-50 lead as the under 12 timeout whistle blew.
The Rangers just couldn't match the hot-shooting Skyhawks in the final minutes of the game. In the end, RU fell by a margin of 75-81.
Game Notes: Brady (9-12 FG, 5-8 3-PT) led RU with a career-high 26 points and had a team-high five assists.
