Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

No. 23 RU Slips at Home Versus FLC

DENVER - The No. 23 Regis University men's basketball team (17-6,12-5 RMAC) dropped their Saturday night contest to the Fort Lewis Skyhawks (14-7,10-5 RMAC) at the Regis Field House. Graduate student guard Troy Brady dropping a career-high 26 points and three other Rangers scoring in double-digits were the highlights of the evening.

How it Happened: After FLC opened the contest on a 12-6 run, Regis took their first lead of the night when graduate student Brian Dawson and Brady hit back-to-back-to-back triples at the 5:46 mark in the first frame. RU ended the half of a 14-9 run, leading 39-31 as the teams went to the locker room.

However, the Skyhawks started the final frame shooting extremely well, 60 percent from the field in fact. A 24-11 FLC run gave them a 55-50 lead as the under 12 timeout whistle blew.

The Rangers just couldn't match the hot-shooting Skyhawks in the final minutes of the game. In the end, RU fell by a margin of 75-81.

Game Notes: Brady (9-12 FG, 5-8 3-PT) led RU with a career-high 26 points and had a team-high five assists.

Junior guard Will Cranston-Lown (6-12 FG, 1-3 3-PT) scored 14 points and had four assists.

Junior guard Aaron Bokol (3-4 FG, 1-1 3-PT) had 12 points off the bench.

Graduate student guard Brian Dawson (4-9 FG, 1-3 3-PT) scored 11.

Up Next for the Rangers: The Rangers will have a few days to prepare for Colorado Mesa (19-8,13-5 RMAC) on Friday. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. in Grand Junction.
