DENVER - The Regis University women's basketball team (9-13, 5-10 RMAC) was dealt their tenth conference loss of the season Friday night. The team faced the MSU Denver Roadrunners (15-5,11-4 RMAC) in a highly anticipated crosstown matchup.
How it Happened: The Rangers led by as much as eight points in the first half before the Roadrunners took command in the second half.
Sophomore
Madison Diercks put Regis up by three (31-28) at the charity stripe with seven to go in the third period. The team's best shooting of the night came in the third which helped them keep their lead - RU was 45 percent from the field and 67 percent from the three in the period.
With a slim 1-point lead in the fourth, MSU Denver went off on a 26-16 run to close the game. The Rangers kept it close, but the Roadrunner's 72 percent shooting from the field was just too much for Regis. In the end, RU fell by a margin of 60-69.
