DENVER - The Regis University women's basketball team (9-14,5-11 RMAC) faced the top dogs in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) in the No. 13 Colorado School of Mines Orediggers (19-3,14-2 RMAC), Tuesday evening at the Regis Field House.

How it Happened: After back-and-forth action to start the game, Mines raced out on a 9-0 run to take a 19-11 lead as the first period came to a close. Â
A 9-2 run from RU in the second made the score 34-26, Mines, but the Orediggers erased it quickly and inflated their lead to 17 points as the team's headed to the locker room.Â
Another 10-0 run for CSM made the Rangers' deficit even bigger to start the third frame. After trailing by as much as 27 points, the Rangers attempted a comeback through the third and fourth periods. The squad got to within 15 points, but they just couldn't stop the hot-shooting Orediggers. In the end, Regis fell 73-58.Â
Game Notes: RU was 38 percent (21-54) from the field and 24 percent (6-25) from behind the arc.
Freshman
Athena Saragoza (6-12 FG, 3-8 3-PT) led Regis with 15 points.
Sophomore
Madison Diercks (4-12 FG, 0-4 3-PT) was close behind with 10 points and four boards.
Junior
Sam Deem (1-5 FG, 0-1 3-PT) crashed the glass for a team-high seven rebounds.
Up Next for the Rangers: Regis will look to end their eight-game skid when they host Western Colorado (10-10,8-7 RMAC) this Friday at 5 p.m.
