COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. —
The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) released the Volleyball Coaches' Preseason Poll on Tuesday for the upcoming 2022 season.

The Regis Rangers, on the heels of a fourth-place finish in tight 2021 conference race, come in at No. 4 in the preseason poll with 162 points while earning one first-place vote.

In-town rival Metropolitan State University of Denver, the 2021 conference regular season champions, sits atop the RMAC coaches' poll with 192 points and 10 first-place votes, while Colorado Mesa (2) and Colorado School of Mines (1) tied for second with 172 points.

Colorado State University Pueblo rounds out the top-5 and first-place vote getters with 150 points.

The Rangers bring back a core of six returners who saw significant time in 2021, including First Team All-Conference setter Mara LeGrand and Second Team All-RMAC middle blocker Nadine Burbrink, each of whom are named to the RMAC Players to Watch list.

LeGrand, also named to the AVCA DII South Central All-Region team and AVCA All-American Honorable Mention for the first time in her career in 2021, finished with the second most assists (1,140) in the conference a season ago. In addition to her setting prowess, LeGrand showed her versatility with 87 kills and 24 service aces, offensively, while adding 332 digs and 42 block assists, defensively.

As for Burbrink, she shined in her first season with the Rangers after coming in from Hillsborough Community College. She led all Regis players with 18 solo blocks and finished third in the RMAC with 112 total blocks during the 2021 season. Offensively, Burbrink tallied 194 kills on a .262 hitting percentage.

Regis added to its established core with a large, seven-player recruiting class in the offseason that features three true freshmen (Isabella Smith, Kylie Stremmel and Braiziah Dixon) and four transfers in Emma Prentice (Iowa Western Community College), Lexie Curtis (Hillsborough Community College), Klaudia Sowizral (University of Connecticut) and Denver product Amelia Davis (East Carolina).

The Rangers are set to open the 2022 season August 26-27 at the Western Washington Invitational in Bellingham, Washington.
