Rangers drop early-morning match to CSU-San Bernardino

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The Regis University's men's soccer team played their third of a four-game road trip against California State University-San Bernardino but were unable to find the back of the net in a 2-0 loss to the Coyotes.

How It Happened: CSU-SB came out strong in the first half, scoring both of its goals in the first half. The first score came off a corner kick and the second via a long ball from the top of the box.

"The story of the day is we started slow. It took us a while to get going and we got punished by a good San Bernardino team in the first half," said Regis men's soccer coach Taylor Diem.

The Rangers ramped up the defense in the second half, preventing the Coyotes from scoring another goal over the final 45 minutes.

"We recollected at half time, and talked about our position to get back in the game. We made little adjustments and had good tempo control. We created a bunch of turnovers and solid chances, but we just couldn't find the back of the net," said Diem.

Game Notes:

Sam Gardner had one shot on goal, Randolf Rothe finished with two to lead all Rangers.
Luka Falagrady finished the match with four saves in net.
