LeGrand becomes first Ranger since 1997 to win AVCA/GameChanger Women's Volleyball Division II National Player of the Week

DENVER, Colo. — Less than 24 hours after earning her second RMAC Setter of the Week award, Regis University graduate student setter Mara LeGrand earned the program's third ever AVCA/GameChanger Women's Division II Player of the Week award, announced by the organization on Tuesday.

LeGrand guided the offense for the No. 11 ranked Rangers, who produced 106 kills and hit a blistering .378 in a pair of wins last weekend against Colorado Christian and Chadron State College, bumping the Regis winning streak to nine straight.

The setter averaged 12.0 assists per set and 3.0 digs per set. She had 36 assists vs. Colorado Christian and followed that up with a double-double (48 assists and 13 digs) against Chadron State.

LeGrand, and AVCA All-American Honorable Mention winner in 2022, is the third Regis athlete to win Division II National Player of the Week honors, the first player from the RMAC to win in 2023, and the first Ranger to accomplish the feat since 1997.
