Burbrink and LeGrand each named to D2CCA South Central All-Region teams

DENVER, Colo. — The Regis University volleyball team had two student-athletes named to the D2 Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) South Central All-Region teams on Wednesday, nominated and voted on by the sports information directors from the Lone Star and RMAC conferences.

Players with the most vote points were named to the First Team, while the player with the highest number of votes was selected as Region Player of the Year.

Regis graduate student middle blocker Nadine Burbrink was named First Team All-Region as she is currently in the midst of a career year in 2023. Entering this week's NCAA DII South Central Regional Tournament, Burbrink has already eclipsed career marks in kills per set (2.63), service aces (18), digs (54) and total blocks (131).

Already named a First Team All-Conference winner this fall, Burbrink's 1.31 blocks per set are also a career high and rank second on the team for the Rangers, who lead all Division II squads with 2.84 blocks per set.

Joining Burbrink on the D2CCA All-Region teams is graduate student Mara LeGrand, the 2023 RMAC Tournament MVP and four-time First Team All-Conference setter.

LeGrand earns Second Team honors and enters play this weekend averaging 10.33 assists and 2.76 digs per set. Demonstrating her elite versatility, LeGrand has also posted 22 service aces, nearly a kill per set (0.97), and is having her best season at the net as her 79 total blocks and 0.79 blocks per set are both career highs.

Burbrink, LeGrand and the rest of the No. 9 ranked Rangers will look to keep their strong 2023 campaigns going on Thursday in the first round of the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Tournament down in Canyon, Texas.

No. 2 seeded Regis begins tournament play at 11 a.m. (Mountain) against No. 7 seed Angelo State University.
