Marlow earns First Team All-American honors through NCBWA

| By:
DENVER, Colo. — Regis University senior first baseman Matt Marlow has been named a First Team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA), becoming just the third player in program history to earn First Team All-American honors across the three voting committees.

Marlow joins elite company in Matt Levering, named a First Team All-American in 2004 by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings, and Logan Knox; a fellow NCBWA First Team All-American selection in 2014.

The NCBWA announced Marlow as a First Team All-Region player back on May 17, voted on by a committee of eight sports information directors with four representing the RMAC and four others representing the Lone Star Conference.

Marlow was also named a Second Team All-Region player by the ABCA/Rawlings to go along with a laundry list of accolades in 2023 that also includes First Team All-RMAC and First Team All-Academic.

The Rangers' first baseman batted a team-best .431 with career highs in runs scored (62), runs batted in (63), total hits (87) and on-base percentage (.510). Marlow rounded out his game with a career high in stolen bases (14-for-18) while also posting a career-best .992 fielding percentage.

As a fixture in the No. 3 hole, Marlow helped the Rangers surged to 31 wins in 2023 and advance to the program's first RMAC Tournament championship game since 2012. In addition to his single-season success, Marlow also became the program's all-time RBI leader in 2023 while ranking top-5 all-time in total bases (381), batting average (.394), total hits (236) and runs scored (163).
