Eisa claims RMAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for Week 10

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced the winners of the Men's Basketball Players of the Week awards, with Regis University senior forward Tarig Eisa taking home Defensive Player of the Week honors for Week 10.

Eisa, the conference's top shot blocker thus far in 2023-24 (1.4 BPG), was inserted into the starting lineup over the weekend. He responded in a big way, averaging 7.0 rebounds per game while swatting away six blocked shots in the Rangers' home victories over Colorado Christian University and Chadron State College.

The Toronto, Ontario, Canada native saved his best performance for Saturday as he tallied a career-high five blocks in the Rangers' 86-55 victory over Chadron State. With Eisa protecting the rim, Regis limited the Eagles to just 22 points on 19 percent shooting (7-for-36) in the second half.

Monday's announcement marks the first Defensive Player of the Week award for Eisa and the first Regis winner of the 2023-24 season.
