HOW IT HAPPENED
Regis would be getting the match on a 4-0 run behind a Reagan Hickey kill and Giselle Cazares service ace. Braiziah Dixon and Lindsey Cure assisted on a block to bring the score to 8-4, and Bryn McNair's kill extended it to 11-5. Dixon sparked a late five to nothing run with a kill followed by a Cure-assisted block and McNair had a late kill to help secure the 25-19 set win.
Dixon had a hand in all five points in an early 5-0 run, including three assisted blocks and two kills to bring the score to 8-5. The teams then traded 5-0 runs, with Regis' being fueled by a pair of Cazares aces, and a Halle Theis kill. However, after Amelia Davis put down a kill to go up 20-17, the Grizzlies took over and managed to win the set, 26-24.
ASU jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the third set, but back-to-back kills from Dixon helped close that to 6-7. However, Adam's State was able to stay in control, extending their lead back up to 16 to 10, despite a pair of kills from Davis and a Dixon-Theis block. After a late Dixon kill, ASU cruised to the 25-14 win.
Brei Krissy had an early service ace in the fourth set, and Hickey earned a kill and a trio of early assists to help the rangers build a 10-4 lead. Dixon's kill sparked a 7-1 run that included two blocks and an ace from Dixon as well. Leading 20-10, Davis had a kill and Theis-assisted block, and Cazares added yet another ace to earn the dominant 25-10 set win.
In the deciding fifth set, Davis and McNair's block tied this set at 3-3 and after falling behind, Hickey and Davis assisted a block, followed by Theis and Dixon to even the score at 8-8. But The grizzlies were able to outdo kills from Dixon and cure, and held on for the 15-11 win.
