COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Regis University Men's Soccer team earned a point on the road on Sunday afternoon as they secured a tie, 2-2, with #5 University of Colorado Colorado Springs. The Rangers now sit at 7-2-8 (6-0-3 RMAC) while the Mountain Lions are 13-1-3 (6-1-2 RMAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers would start on the offensive, taking the forst four shots of the match, including on-target shots from Liam Corr and Jacobo Betancourt-Tavor. However, the Moutain Lions were able to capitalize on their first shot, an unassisted goal by Dani Barajas at 18:23. The teams traded shots on goal, with Greg Squire saving two attempts, before Corr scored on a shot set up by Betancourt-Tavor and Jan Grillitsch at 34:51. The Rangers then faced adversity before the end of the half, ceding another goal and losing a player to a red card.
Corr had two shots early in the second, one on goal, and Ignacio Bellina and Elais Taubo added two more. Both teams offenses remained aggressive, trading shots nearly every minute. Kaden Cameron's try was saved in the 67th minute, and Squire saved another in the 83rd. with under two minutes remaining, Cameron Bennetti snuck a ball over the heads of the jumping defenders, scoring and evening the game at 2-2 and securing the tie.

· Regis took 20 shots with 11 on goal, while UCCS had 16 with seven on
· RU attempted five corners, and Colorado Springs took six

The Rangers travel to Colorado Christian University on Wednesday, November six for the regular season finale. RU currently sits at second in the conference standings wit 21 points, just one behind CSU Pueblo. With a win, and Pueblo tie or loss, the Ranges can win the regular season RMAC title.
