Regis junior Megan Bunker named IWLCA Division II National Offensive Player of the Week

| By:
NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced its IWLCA Players of the Week awards on Tuesday, with Regis University junior Megan Bunker taking home the Division II National Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Bunker, named the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, dominated the draw circle for the No. 9 ranked Rangers (7-1 overall) this past weekend, highlighted by a season-high 18 draws in a 19-13 win over regional foe, No. 12 University of Indianapolis.

With her 17.0 draw control per game average over the weekend, Bunker soared to second place among all NCAA Division II players with an average of 8.88 draw controls per game so far this season.

In addition to her work in the draw circle, Bunker also netted two goals apiece in the Rangers' victories over UIndy and the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs on Sunday. She'd also add an assist in the 19-9 win over the Mountain Lions to give her five total points for the weekend.

Tuesday's announcement marks the first time a Regis player has won a IWLCA National Player of the Week honor so far in 2024 and is the first Ranger to win an IWLCA Player of the Week award since Jessica Berg earned Defensive Player of the Week on March 30, 2021.
