ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Regis University Women's Volleyball fell to Adams State University on the road on Saturday afternoon, 0-3 (20-25, 13-25, 17-25). The Rangers fall to 1-15 (1-5 RMAC), while the Grizzlies improve to 8-9 (3-3 RMAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
A spread-out offense by the Rangers, including multiple kills for Braiziah Dixon and Kendal Allaire, and an Isabella Smith ace, gave RU an early 8-5 lead in the first, but ASU battled back to even the score at 10-10. Dixon and Smith interrupted the Grizzlies run, but they still built an 18-13 lead. Sabrina Landman and Brooke Sanford both produced late kills, but it wasn't enough as Adams won, 25-20.
Landman and Sanford recorded kills to start the second, while Aaliyah Rodrakkwan aced a serve, but the Grizzlies outpaced the Ranges to a 9-4 lead. Bailey Nichols set up a Dixon kill, then put down one of her own, but an ASU run put them ahead, 17-8. Smith stopped the run, and Krissy Brei added an ace, but Adams cruised to a 25-13 win in the second.
Landman and Sanford kills, to go with another Brei ace, helped the Ranger offense early, but not enough as they fell behind, 11-5. Nichols and Smith traded turns putting down kills, and Alayna Pruitt added one of her own, but ASU still pulled away. Dixon and Pruitt assisted a block, and Smith stopped one solo, but Adams still won, 25-17.
