Rangers Fall to Top Ranked Roadrunners

DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University Women's Volleyball fell to #11 Metropolitan State University of Denver at home Saturday afternoon, 0-3 (20-25, 13-25, 17-25). The Rangers fall to 1-17 (1-7 RMAC), while the Roadrunners improve to 15-3 (5-2 RMAC).

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Rangers jumped out to an early 6-3 lead behind strong kills from Isabell Smith and Kendal Allaire. MSU Denver responded with a surge of momentum, taking control at 16-11. A kill from Braiziah Dixon and an ace from Aaliyah Rodrakkwan brought the Rangers within one, but the Roadrunners held on to take the opening set, 25-21.

In the second set, Smith put the Rangers on the board first, though RU quickly fell behind 8-3. An ace from Krissy Brei and a block by Allaire and Sabrina Landman sparked a rally that tied the score at 14-14. However, MSU Denver regained control with a five-point run and went on to claim the set, 25-17.

The Roadrunners carried their momentum into the third, racing out to a 7-0 lead. Bailey Nichols and Allaire answered with a pair of kills, and a four-point run fueled by Smith and Brooke Sanford brought the Rangers back within reach. Despite the effort, MSU Denver closed out the match, taking the final set 25-11.
