DENVER, Colo- The Regis University Volleyball team fell to Colorado State University Pueblo in an RMAC match-up on Friday night, 0-3 (13-25, 18-25, 15-25). The Rangers fall to 1-12 (1-4 RMAC) on the season while the Thunderwolves improve to, 10-4 (4-0 RMAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers opened the set with a kill from
Bailey Nichols and
Isabella Smith, but the Thunderwolves would gain momentum, taking the lead 7-2.
Braiziah Dixon would add a block for RU and a kill from Sabrina Sandman, bringing back some momentum. Brooke Sandford added another kill from Regis, but CSUP would take the first 25-13.
In the second set, the Rangers struck early as
Kendal Allaire capitalized on Thunderwolf errors with a kill to help build a 7-4 lead. Dixon would add another block with a kill from Smith, leading 15-11. However, CSUP responded with a seven-point run that shifted control. Sandman added another kill, but the rally wasn't enough as the Rangers dropped the set 25-18.
The Thunderwolves set the pace early in the third, jumping out to a 7-3 lead.
Isabella Smith and
Bailey Nichols answered with kills for RU, but CSUP continued to roll, stretching the margin to 18-8.
Aaliyah Rodrakkwan and
Kendal Allaire added a block, but CSUP stole the match, 25-15.
GAME NOTES
Smith led with eight kills.
Dixon totaled five blocks.
Nichols dished 17 assists.
