DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University Baseball team fell to Montana State University Billings, 7-6, on Sunday afternoon. The Rangers fall to 4-5, while the Yellowjackets improve to 7-3.
The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was suspended in the sixth inning due to darkness. It will resume on Monday morning.
GAME ONE
MSUB scored in the top of the first inning with an RBI single through the left side, while the Rangers did not have their first hit until the bottom of the second with a Jack Moulin single. The Yellowjackets added to their lead with a solo home run in the top of the fourth, but the Rangers matched the run with an RBI single from CJ Difiglia, scoring Moulin.
In the top of the fifth inning, the Yellowjackets launched a two-run homerun that pushed the lead to 4-1, but the Rangers matched again, as Adam Paniagua brought home Clay Conn, and Maxim Fullerton singled score Paniagua. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Ayden Harrison singled to third, and Conn was walked to set up a three-run homer for Paniagua. However, Billings came alive with the game on the line. In the ninth inning, MSUB scored three runs on three hits and one Regis error for the 7-6 lead and win.

Difiglia led the Rangers with three hits on five at-bats, while Paniagua batted in four runs
