Dallas, Texas – The Regis University Men's Basketball team, seeded No. 8 in the NCAA South Central Regional of the National Tournament, concluded their 2024-25 season with a loss to No. 1 Dallas Baptist University, 74-54 on Saturday evening. The Ranges fall to 18-14, while the Patriots improve to 31-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers' scoring began with a Jalen Page layup, followed by a Chase Mayo Harmon three. Regis tied the game behind another Mayo Harmon triple, and took the lead, 12-10 after a Ty Cox steal turned into a fastbreak layup. RU held onto a slight lead with and and-one from Mayo Harmon and a Jalen Brown jumper, but a 7-0 Patriot lead gave DBU the lead, 26-21. Eddy Egun ended the run, but DBU's lead continued to grow. Brown scored in the paint with :15 seconds left in the half, but Regis trailed, 40-29.
Egun scored first to open the second half, and Trey Bryant hit from deep, but the Ranger struggled to cut into the lead. Bryant added another three, while Brown's layup brought the score to 45-55. Another DBU pushed the advantage to 16 points before Mayo Harmon hit another three-pointer. Egun scored two from the line late in the game, bringing the final score to 74-54.
GAME NOTES
· Mayo Harmon led the Rangers with 16 points and seven rebounds
· Bryant added a near double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds
· Five players had two assists
· Cameron Kahn had 19 points for the Patriots
· DBU forced 25 turnovers
