INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Committee announced today the field of 64 teams that will compete in the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship, and the Regis Men's Basketball team has earned one of the 41 available at-large bids in the tournament.
The Rangers will be the No. 8 seed in the South Central Region, and will take on regional host, No. 1 Ballas Baptist University (Texas) in the first round.
"I'm very thankful that our guys have been afforded this opportunity," said Head Coach Brady Bergeson. "This group has crawled their way to this point, and no one is more deserving of this chance."
RU holds an 18-13 (14-6 RMAC) record, finished the regular season as the No. 2 team in the RMAC, and were the runners-up in the RMAC Conference Tournament. DBU, who is ranked #6 in the most recent D2CSC Media Poll, and #7 in the most recent DII NABC Coaches Poll, sits at 30-4 (19-3 Lone Star Conference). The Patriots won the regular season LSC crown, as well as their first LSC Tournament Championship.
This is the Rangers' fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and the first since the 2017-18 season. That year, Regis defeated Dallas Baptist in the first round, and fell to the University of Texas-Permian Basin in the second round. The teams have met twice in program history, each winning one game.
The game is set for Saturday, March 15, tip-off at 4:00 PM (MT).
