LAKEWOOD, Colo. – The Regis University Baseball team split a pair of games on Sunday afternoon at All-Star Park. The Rangers defeated the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, 9-8. Before falling to Colorado Christian University, 10-9. The Rangers now hold a 9-8 record, while the Mountain Lions fall to 10-5, and the Cougars improve to 3-14.
The games did not count as RMAC contests.
GAME ONE
The Mountain Lions singled up the middle for the first score of the game in the top of the second, but in the bottom of the frame, Peter Goldy homered, bringing in Jack Moulin and putting RU ahead, 2-1. UCCS started the third with a double and single, back-to-back, to tie the game at 2-2.
Following two scoreless innings, the Mountain Lions took back the lead with a sacrifice fly and RBI double. They pushed the score to 5-2 in the sixth on an RBI single, but Regis had a huge response in the bottom of the inning, as Maxim Fullerton scored on a pass ball, Moulin scored on Ayden Harrison's sac fly, and Adam Paniagua launched a grand slam for the 8-5 lead.
UCCS tried to respond in the seventh, scoring one run on a pass ball, but Regis matched as Goldy's sacrifice brought in Moulin. The eighth inning saw two more RBI doubles from the Mountain Lions, to bring the game within one, but Regis held on for the 9-8 victory.
GAME NOTES
· Panaigua was 2-4 with four RBIs
· Moulin was 1-2 and scored three runs
· Goldy went 2-3 and batted in three runs
· Two Mountain Lions went 4-5
· Zach Gregory (1-0) earned his first win of the year, while Joe MMcDermott (1-1) recorded the loss

GAME TWO
Colorado Christian scored one run in each of the first two innings, but CJ Difiglia evened the score in the top of the third with a home run that also scored Westin Miller. The Cougars added open more run in the third, scoring on a fielder's choice.
RU took the lead in the fifth, as Paniagua batted in Matthew Gahan, and Fullerton doubled to right field, which brought home Clayton Conn. CCU scored on an RBI double in the fifth to tie the match again, but took the lead in the sixth with a two-RBI home run.
Conn scored again in the top of the seventh after stealing third base, but the Cougars extended their lead to 8-5 in the bottom of the frame on one hit and one Regis error. RU recorded three hits in the top of the ninth, including a Paniagua double, a Fullerton triple, and Ethan Wood single, and took a 9-8 lead. However, in the bottom of the ninth, with two outs, the Cougars tripled to right, one player was walked, and Brandon Schramm smacked the walk-off, two-RBI double for the 10-9 win.
GAME NOTES
· Fullerton went 2-5 with two RBIs
· Conn was 3-4, and scored three runs

· Seven Cougars posted at least one hit
· Trevor Moeck (0-2) recorded the loss, and Sawyer Shepherd (1-1) earned the win
