DENVER, Colo. – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) has released its 2025 All-South Central Regional team, and three Rangers have been honored.
Adam Paniagua, Sr., Catcher - The NCAA DII leader in runs batted in (100) was named to the All-Region First Team after earning a spot on the Second Team in 2024. Paniagua was voted the RMAC Player of the Year with a .448 batting average, including 90 hits, 22 doubles, one triple, and 27 home runs. He posted a .970 slugging %, and a .534 on base percentage. On defense, he recorded 302 put outs and assisted on 30 more. He caught 18 runners stealing.
Noah McCandless, Sr., Relief Pitcher – McCandless earned his first All-Region Recognition this year, being named All-Region First Team. With a conference-leading seven saves, McCandless posted a 4-2 record in 32.2 innings pitched. Allowing just 13 earned runs and 31 hits, he recorded a 3.58 ERA. Batters hit just .250 against him, and he struck out batters 29 times. McCandless was also named First Team All-RMAC.
Clayton Conn, Sr., Shortstop – Conn also makes his first appearance on an All-Region team, being voted the Second Team shortstop. With an RMAC-best 28 stolen bases, Conn scored 71 runs, and batted in 49 more. His hitting splits included .322 batting average, .486 slugging, and .486 on base percentage. His 59 hits included 12 doubles, three triples, and four home runs. Defensively, he totaled 121 assists, 76 put outs, and turned 18 double plays. He was also named First Team All-RMAC.
The teams were voted on by a committee of eight members with four from the RMAC and four from the Lone Star Conference. All members of the first team advance to the ballot for 2025 NCBWA All-America Teams.
