Paniagua and Conn Named CSC Academic All-Americans

AUSTIN, Texas – Regis University seniors Adam Paniagua and Clayton Conn have been voted to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2025 Academic All-America® baseball teams, the organization announced Tuesday.

Paniagua was selected as the Second Team All-American catcher, the fifth Ranger to garner this level of recognition, and the first since 2023 (Matt Marlow). Conn was voted a Third Team All-American infielder, the fourth in Ranger's history (most recent-Patrick Farrell, 2010).

11 student-athletes earned spots on the First and Second Teams, while 12 made the Third. Regis was one of just four schools with multiple players on the All-America teams.

Paniagua, who owns a 3.70 GPA in his Master's of Project Leadership & Management, adds another award to one of the most decorated seasons ever. The senior catcher's historic season was headlined by leading NCAA DII in slugging % (.970), and RBIs (100), which are both Regis and RMAC records, and holding the second-best batting average (.448). He also set the RU record in home runs with 27, and total bases with 195. The Phoenix, Ariz. native posted the Rangers' second-highest single season totals in runs scored (74), doubles (22), and runners caught stealing (18). He produced 90 hits, one triple, was walked 32 times, and on defense, he had 302 put outs and 30 assists on .994 fielding %.

Paniagua's accolades this year include the Perfect Game Baseball Player of the Year, D2 Baseball First-Team All-America, ABCA First-Team All-America, D2CCA First Team All-America, NCBWA First Team All-America, ABCA/Rawlings First-Team All-South Central Region, D2CCA First Team All-South Central Region, NCBWA First Team All-South Central Region, RMAC Player of the Year, First Team All-RMAC, RMAC All-Tournament Team, Golden Spikes Watchlist (Only D2 Player on the List), 1x NCBWA National Hitter of the Week, 1x NCBWA Regional Hitter of the Week, 2x RMAC Player of the Week, CSC Academic All-District, and RMAC Academic Honor Roll.

Conn, a software engineering major with a 3.93 GPA, led the RMAC in stolen bases with 28, which also tied him for the Regis career record with 62. He scored 71 runs, and batted in 49 more with hitting splits of .322 batting average, .486 slugging, and .486 on base percentage. His 59 hits included 12 doubles, three triples, and four home runs. Defensively, he totaled 121 assists, 76 put outs, and turned 18 double plays. He was also voted to the NCBWA Second Team All-Region, First Team All-RMAC, RMAC All-Academic First-Team, and RMAC Academic Honor Roll.

Together, they helped lead the way to team single-season records in wins (35), slugging % (.607), on base % (.465), runs scored (560), doubles (139), home runs (86), RBIs (520), total bases (1069), and 34 runs in a single game.

The 2025 NCAA Division II Academic All-District® teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, which recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

The Division II Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Division II Academic All-America® program.
