GREENSBORO, N.C. – The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Rawlings have unveiled their 2025 All-America teams, with Regis University's Adam Paniagua being named the First Team All-America catcher.
Paniagua becomes the second Ranger to ever be named to the ABCA/Rawlings First Team All-America, joining Matt Levering (third base, 2004).
The senior catcher led NCAA DII in slugging % (.970), and RBI (100), which are both Regis and RMAC records, and held the second-best batting average (.448). He also set the RU record in home runs with 27, and total bases with 195. The Phoenix, Ariz. native posted the Ranger's second-highest single season totals in runs scored (74), doubles (22), and runners caught stealing (18). He produced 90 hits, one triple, was walked 32 times, and on defense, he had 302 put outs and 30 assists on .994 fielding %.
He was the motor that led the Ranger's offense to single-season team records in wins (35), slugging % (.607), on base % (.465), runs scored (560), doubles (139), home runs (86), RBIs (520), and total bases (1069), as well as a team Record 34 runs in a game
Paniagua has collected a mountain of awards this year, including D2CCA First Team All-America, NCBWA First Team All-America, ABCA/Rawlings First-Team All-South Central Region, D2CCA First Team All-South Central Region, NCBWA First Team All-South Central Region, RMAC Player of the Year, First Team All-RMAC, RMAC All-Tournament Team, Golden Spikes Watchlist (Only D2 Player on the List), 1x NCBWA National Hitter of the Week, 1x NCBWA Regional Hitter of the Week, and 2x RMAC Player of the Week.
The ABCA/Rawlings All-America teams are selected by members of the ABCA All-America committees. ABCA/Rawlings All-Region First Team selections, which were announced Wednesday, were eligible for All-America honors.
The Chair of the ABCA NCAA Div. II All-America & Coach of the Year Committee is Rudy Garbalosa of Lynn University. Also on the committee are Jim Gantt (Catawba College), Rick Giannetti (Dominican College), Dave Hajek (University of Colorado at Colorado Springs), Ryan Kelley (Wayne State University), Alex Koch (Wayne State College) and Marc Marizzaldi (Seton Hill University) and Tony Schifano (San Francisco State University).
The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams for all divisions will be announced on Wednesday, June 18. The ABCA NCAA Div. II Region All-Defensive teams will be announced on Thursday, June 19.
ABCA/Rawlings National Pitchers and Position Players of the Year in all divisions will be announced on Monday, June 23.
The ABCA All-America team was first recognized in 1949 and now includes nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007.
