SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Regis University Men's Soccer team lost to Point Loma Nazarene University, 0-1, on Saturday afternoon in the final match of their California road trip. The Rangers fall to 2-1, while the Sea Lions improve to 2-1-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Point Loma capitalized on a Regis handball in the box at 4:17, putting in a penalty kick in the bottom left corner. From there, Zach Jennings would save two shot on goal, while Sahar Golov and Ignacio Bellina produced shots for Regis. Three straight corner kicks by the Sea Lions yielded no results, while, PLNU's final shot of the half hit the right post with just seven seconds left.
Jennings had another save to start the second half, then the squads' defenses stepped up, neither allowing an attempt for over 15 minutes. The next shot would be taken by Point Loma at 74:05, and five minutes later, another save for Jennings. With two minutes left, the Rangers tried to push the pace, with two late goals by Blaise Richard and Elias Taubo, but neither would find the net as Regis lost, 0-1.
